If you have been following the news, you may have heard that Houston-based Zeno Imaging has acquired Global Services, which is also based in Houston. The cost of the acquisition was not disclosed. Zeno has announced plans to expand business into the Dallas market. It also plans to hire for new sales and service positions at all levels and in all its markets.
As you know, acquisitions create more comprehensive businesses. The combined business has locations in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, and approximately 150 employees. The company is in the printing and imaging industry.
The acquisition will allow the company to integrate more IT-related solutions as part of a complete service package. Separately, the two companies offered complimenting services to businesses. As a single entity it will be able to offer a more comprehensive package of services.
Specifically, Zeno offers technology solution packages that give greater organization and control to management of a business including document management, facilities management, print fleet management, mailing products, multifunctional products and digital presses.
Furthermore, Global Services offers hard copy print based solutions, relying upon incorporating the Kyocera Mita Ecosys line of printers to help manage printing needs and costs. Very few of the products or services of each company will be duplicated in the new entity, which should lead to an increase in jobs over all without eliminating any current positions.
The marriage of two similar but different businesses to form a more competitive entity that can offer a broader array of products and solutions represents the concept of merger and acquisitions operating at its highest and most beneficial form.
